St John’s Grammar Boarding Precinct

The boarding precinct is nestled among suburban Belair with tall gumtrees and a range of beautiful wildlife just outside the window. Located within our International Living and Learning Precinct, our three boarding houses are located only a few steps away from classrooms.

Modelled around contemporary Australian lifestyle, the boarding houses have been designed to ensure the comfortable sized bedrooms, while also ensuring there are spaces for students to come together to study, eat and enjoy the Australian way of living. A secure and green space joins all three boarding houses to ensure students can enjoy their own backyard too.

Services

The boarding staff team

Led by the Deputy Principal and the Boarding Manager, a team of dedicated boarding staff with various range of backgrounds and expertise are there to provide our boarders a “home away from home”. Students are looked after 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Food and Chef

Our boarders are provided with breakfast, recess, lunch, snacks and dinner. A professional chef who is expert in cooking western and Asian cuisine cooks the meals for students, with students particularly enjoying the specially made dessert with their dinner!

Activities

A special tradition at the Boarding House is organising weekly shopping trips for our students to do their own grocery shopping. In addition, incursions, excursions and cooking classes during weekends or school holidays are welcomed by both the students and their parents.

Independent living

The core concept of St John’s boarding is to promote the independent living skills. These include healthy lifestyle choices, team building and life skills such as simple cooking, personal organisation, and much more.

Keeping in touch with parents

Our international parents are well informed how their children are going at the boarding house. We use newsletter, emails, WhatsApp, Wechat and REACH system to ensure our parents are up to date.
