International students
St
John’s Grammar School is a unique place to study in South Australia. We
are situated in a beautiful natural Australian environment. We have
koalas, kookaburras and rainbow lorikeets in our surrounding trees. St
John’s is set on 4 hectares and just a 30-minute train journey south of
the Adelaide CBD. International students love this environment because
they can study in a fresh, clean and tranquil place.
We have modern new facilities
including Design & Technology and Information Technology Centres, a
Library, a Visual Arts Annexe, Sports Centre and Science Laboratories.
These modern facilities and our high teaching standards enable our
students to achieve their highest potential in order to meet the
academic scores for tertiary entrance.
Our aim is to provide an education in a
supportive environment which encourages each child to develop social
skills, spiritual growth, artistic competence, emotional stability and
positive attitudes towards academic studies. St John’s Grammar School’s
fine reputation results from the high quality and dedicated approach of
our highly educated and experienced teachers.
All students are encouraged to participate
in the extra-curricular activities the School offers, to develop new
friendships through team sports, which include basketball, table-tennis
and volleyball.
From 2008 it is expected that students will
attend a 20 week intensive language program at Woodcroft Intensive
School of English prior to commencing at St John’s. St John’s students
will wear school uniform and travel by bus daily to and from Woodcroft,
which is also an Anglican school
Home-stay accommodation is organised with
families who live near the School, which minimises travel time and
enables International students to integrate into the local community.
All students can expect to have their own bedroom and be cared for as a
member of the host family.
