Dear Year 10 and 11 Families,

Exams and Revision

Classes will finish for Year 10 and Year 11 students on Friday 21 November (Week 6) to provide time for our End of Semester 2 Examinations to be held in Week 7.  The format for these exams is similar to Semester 1, however no exams will run on Friday 28 November, as the “Soaring into Stage 2” Day is held at this time – a day scheduled to prepare students for their Stage 2 subjects in 2026.

Teachers of examinable subjects will be providing revision materials to support students’ preparation. A guided and supported revision campaign will be mapped out by class teachers and time allocated in class, as well as scheduled for homework. Exams are compulsory and provide an opportunity for students to revise and refine their understanding of learning from Semester 2 and to develop exam study and revision strategies for the future.

The exam schedule can be downloaded here.

Students may stay home during the exam week and only come to school to do each exam. If students wish to stay at school and study they need to comply with the sign-in requirements set out below.

Uniform Requirements

All students are to wear the correct school uniform at all times when on Campus. This can be the formal uniform or PE uniform. PE uniform should only be worn if a student is attending a sport practice or match that day. They must not wear a combination of school uniforms, nor can they wear casual clothes or recreational shoes. The students will be sent home if they do not meet our uniform expectations.

Study Locations

When there is no scheduled exam, all students are to be either in supervised study at school in the Senior School study space in the Education Centre, or to be at home completing study. There are to be no students wandering around the school, including waiting for other students. Students who are at school for these study periods must sign in at Student Services in the Education Centre and sign out when they depart.

Attendance

Students are to be at the examination room at least 15 minutes prior to their exam. Students are not permitted to leave the examination room until the end of the allocated time. Students may access the canteen outside of these study times (but not in the 15 minutes before a break time officially starts).

If a student misses their exam for reasons such as illness, they must contact their subject teacher on the day of the exam. An alternative examination time will be advised.

Examinations are an important and valued part of the learning and preparation for our Senior School students. We encourage students to take the experience seriously and make the most of these learning opportunities. Year 10 and Year 11 exams are experiential and will therefore not be included in the Semester 2 report grades. Instead, the exam results will be reported separately through Canvas on each subject page.

‘Soaring into Stage 2’ Day

Friday 28 November is the “Soaring into Stage 2” Day – a day scheduled to prepare students for their Stage 2 subjects in 2026. All Year 11 students are expected to attend for the whole day, as there will be other sessions held on this day for the Class of 2026 cohort. Current Year 10 students who will be studying a full-year Stage 2 subject in 2026 (Stage 2 Japanese, Indonesian, Maths etc) will need to attend for their specific subject sessions. They will receive separate information about this, in coming weeks.

If you have any queries or require any further information, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Yours sincerely
