Darren joined the St Johns Grammar School Board in April 2020 and has also been the Chair of the Finance and Risk Committee since then. Darren commenced his professional career with KPMG in Vancouver which provided him with an opportunity to transfer to Adelaide in the late 1990s. He now has more than 30 years’ experience through several financial/commercial roles at University of South Australia, ATCO Group, Codan Limited, SA Water and now Burnside Hospital. At the Hospital he is currently the Director, Finance and Corporate Services; as part of the Executive Leadership Team he is engaged in various strategic priorities and responsible for Finance, Supply Chain, ICT, Maintenance/Engineering and Medical Records. He is a Chartered Accountant and is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Darren is married and has two children, one of which graduated from St Johns in 2022 and the other is in Year 10. They live on small acreage in Coromandel East and spend some time at Port Julia on Yorke Peninsula. The property keeps Darren and his wife busy but family time is important, where they spend time together playing games, having a hit of tennis, walking, beach exploring and laughing out loud.
