Become a Junior School St John’s Grammar Class Parent Representative in 2024!

A Class Parent Representative is the ‘go to’ parent for their child’s home group.

Being a Parent representative is a great way to be actively involved in your child’s school life. You will help to build connections with the parents in the classroom, the class room teacher and the School.

A parent representative plays a key role in the link between the Parents and Friends Association and the families in your class. We will look to you to help get the message to the families for important fundraisers and events that the Parents and Friends may be holding.

A Parent Representative will be involved in:

  • Organisation of end of year class teacher gift, contributed to by other parents.
  • Organising catch ups within the class or the year level with the other class Representatives for your year level. This can be as many or as little as your class sees fit, but could include a catch up at Belair National Park for families on a weekend, or a coffee catch-up for class parents at the Sheoak Cafe after drop-off
  • Reminders for all those busy parents on your class/year levels communication platform, such as Sports Day, casual days, fundraisers etc.
  • Pastoral care for families – perhaps organising a temporary car pool or meal trains for a family in your class if the need arises

This is not a full on P & F commitment – there is no pressure to communicate weekly to the class or be over everything, and we are always here to help! When important things need to be communicated or an event is on, it’s your time to shine! The classroom teacher may ask for your support at times if they need.

If this is something that you would like to be involved in or if you have any questions please reach out to the Parents and Friends Association via email at pandf@stjohns.sa.edu.au, and we will be in touch.

Yours sincerely

St John’s Grammar Parents and Friends Association
