The eSafety Commissioner has launched a new Social Media Age Restrictions Hub to help families understand age limits, online risks and how to support children’s safe use of social media.
The Hub includes clear FAQs, conversation starters, youth-friendly resources and links to trusted support services such as Headspace, Kids Helpline, ReachOut and 13YARN.
Important information for parents and carers to know:

- Practical tools are available to support safe and respectful online behaviour
- Cyberbullying and image-based abuse (including deepfakes) can be reported for rapid support
- Parents and carers can lodge reports on behalf of their child (with consent) at esafety.gov.au/report
- Safer Internet Day will be recognised on Tuesday 10 February 2026, promoting positive online experiences
