Automatic Email Reply System
To support the quest for our staff to maintain a healthy balance in their working week and to adhere to new regulations regarding rights to disconnect outside of work hours, we have introduced an automatic email reply system. This means you may receive an automatic response if you contact staff after hours, on weekends, or during holidays. Our team will respond to emails promptly at times that are appropriate and manageable. I know our staff have an impressive track record of getting back to parents and students in a timely and purposeful manner, all the more commendable given the volume of communications they receive.
The time and quantity of the emails is one consideration but the content and the tone of an email is another factor that may compromise a healthy workplace for our hardworking team. It is far better practice to share any concerns face to face or over the phone and I only share that because a small rise in insensitive and upsetting written emails is all it takes to have a major impact on the wellbeing of others. In the staff room we have a shared understanding with each other that issues are not part of an email platform.
