Trinity Drama at St. John’s Grammar will be resuming on Monday, 7 March. This is an all-year after-school program that builds drama skills and stagecraft, includes drama games, and culminates in performance. A successful 2021 program led to a wonderfully diverse and impressive showcase at the end of last year, including a self-devised scene written by Dayna O’Connell and Lily O’Toole.
This year, we are offering two classes:
Monday 3.45pm – 4.45pm (Year 4-6) at the Secondary Campus John Bray Centre for Performing Arts. Cost $16 per class.
Tuesday 3.30pm – 4.30pm (Year 7-9) at the Secondary Campus John Bray Centre for Performing Arts. Cost $16 per class.
Term 1 will be a short term of 6 classes only.
There is space for 10 students per class, with a minimum of 6 enrolled for the class to be viable.
Trinity Drama provides the opportunity to be examined in performance and we will certainly offer this experience to St. John’s students who are keen to put in the extra work to prepare. However, the after-school classes this year will not focus on exams, and will instead give attention to performance skills (speech, characterisation, movement, etc.), culminating in an end-of-year Showcase.
Trinity Drama classes are open to anyone who is interested in growing in their performance skills. The classes are fun and dynamic; however, they are also intended to be a full hour of enriching activity which requires focus and commitment.
