You are probably aware that regular reading extends our vocabulary, but did you know that it also improves our analytical skills and enhances our memories? Even better, books create an escape where we can immerse ourselves in other worlds.

The Great Book Swap will take place at lunch on Wednesday 12 September (Week 8) and provides a great opportunity for students to ‘swap’ a gold coin for new and exciting books.

We would love it if you could sort through your bookshelves and donate any books that you no longer need. All donations can be dropped off to the library. Many thanks to the families who have already done so.

All proceeds will be donated to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation which supports remote Indigenous communities through book donations and literacy programs. Closing the literacy gap will make a huge difference to thousands of Australian children. Regular reading changes lives!

Happy reading!
