St John’s Grammar Early Learning Centre
St John’s Grammar Early Learning Centre (ELC) is an entry point to St John’s Grammar School and provides Montessori-based education programs for 3 and 4 year olds, delivered by qualified teachers. Our aim is to ensure each child thrives in an enriched learning environment that inspires individual curiosity, exploration and creativity.
The ELC is located in a picturesque bushland setting with views across the city of Adelaide and coastline. Our students experience the joy of learning in a beautiful and peaceful natural environment shared by native koalas, kookaburras, parrots and geckos.
The Early Learning Centre Program
The St John’s Grammar Early Learning Centre offers full-day sessions, Monday – Friday, for both our 3 year-old and 4 year-old programs.
The ELC day is open from 7.30am to 6pm each day, with the Montessori-based curriculum being delivered by qualified teachers between 9am and 3.15pm.
We offer a simple, full-day booking option, on the days that suit you between Monday and Friday, and the number of days that suit you between two and five per week. Your booking preferences can be updated each semester if necessary, in line with any changes to your personal circumstances.
We understand that families have a range of commitments in their lives, and this allows for greater opportunities and flexibility in accessing the ELC’s offerings around these commitments. This also provides the opportunity for our students to spend additional time working within our Montessori based ELC curriculum.
As part of this simplification process, one daily fee of $105 has been introduced, which provides access to and from the ELC anytime between 7.30am and 6pm.
To enhance our services to families, we also offer an ELC Vacation Care program that is specific to our 3 and 4 year-old students, separate to our existing Junior School Vacation Care program. This can be booked on a casual, needs basis for each child.
The ELC offers an outstanding curriculum and service to your children, in an intimate group setting, delivered by fully qualified teachers.
If you have any questions or require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact our Registrar, Tim Wilson at firstname.lastname@example.org or on 8278 0210.
Daily Fees, Child Care Benefit and Rebate
The ELC charges a daily fee of $105 per child. This includes the Montessori-based curriculum program, and allows access to the Centre anytime between 7.30am and 6pm on the day of booking.
As an approved child care provider, St John’s ELC provides families with an opportunity to claim the Child Care Benefit (CCB) and the Child Care Rebate (CCR). The Child Care Benefit is income tested and is usually paid directly to approved Child Care Services to reduce the fees that eligible families pay.
An additional payment to the Child Care Benefit is the Child Care Rebate. The Rebate helps families cover the out-of-pocket costs of child care and it is not income tested. Even if your family income is too high for you to receive the Child Care Benefit, you may be eligible for the Child Care Rebate. It covers up to 50 per cent of out-of-pocket costs, up to $7,613 per child, per year.
You can apply for the Child Care Benefit and Rebate online or in person through Centrelink. To apply online, visit the Department of Human Services website or call 136 150. It is important that all parents provide their Parent Reference Number, Birth Dates, and Child CRN to the ELC to receive the rebate on fees.
ELC accounts are generated through our Finance team and billed weekly in arrears.
The ELC uniform is designed for warmth and comfort. Items of clothing include shorts, t- shirt, tracksuit and rugby top which can be continued to be worn in the Junior School. For more information about where to purchase and the uniform price list click here.
St John’s Grammar ELC is located on an acre of natural bushland grounds at 31-33 Sheoak Road, Belair, 15 minutes from the centre of Adelaide.
