Dear Parents and Students

Mid-year exams for St John’s Grammar School students studying SACE Stage 2 will be held from Friday 28 June to Wednesday 3 July, This is the last day of Term 2 and then in to the first week of the school holidays. Exams will take place at the St Barnabas Chapel on the Secondary Campus. This venue will also be used for the SACE Stage 2 end of year exams.

Students should be at the exam room at least 15 minutes before the scheduled commencement of their examination. For examinations held in this holiday week, students may wear casual clothing but school uniform is expected for exams on the Friday 28 June. Bags and mobile phones are not permitted in the exam room. No student will be allowed into the examination more than half an hour after the starting time. School policy is that no students may leave the examination until the completion of the allocated time for that exam. Adhering to the rules that will be in place at the end of the year help students prepare for final examination conditions.

In the last week of term, teachers of subjects having an exam will dedicate lesson time to revision, including a focus on exam technique. Subjects that do not have exams will continue as normal. However, in those subjects which do not have exams, teachers will not set due dates for tasks, or homework in that final week to help create time and focus on exam revision.

Year 11 students will have their Year 11 exams in Week 9 of this term and there won’t be any Year 11 classes. Year 11 students will not attend school on the Friday. However, Year 12 classes will be revising for the exams and Year 11 students will need to negotiate with their individual Stage 2 teachers to discuss their attendance at the revision lessons. Students should also remember to sign in and out of school so that we know when they are on campus.

The exam schedule can be found HERE .

If students are absent for an exam, they should contact Leonie Harwood on on the day of the exam so an alternative time to sit the paper can be arranged. Students who know in advance that they will be unable to sit their exam at the scheduled time should also see Leonie to reschedule.

Yours sincerely
