Both the Stage 2 Language Teachers would like to offer the Indonesian and Japanese Stage 2 Language classes a chance to strengthen their language and cultural understanding through a Language Camp in the second week of the October school holidays from Wednesday 12 October – Friday 14 October (2 nights).

This is an opportunity for students to immerse themselves in the language and culture of Indonesia or Japan through specific language and culture based activities in preparation for the exams. We usual hold 1 day in the holidays in preparation for the Oral and Written exams, but given the situation of the last two years, both groups have missed out on certain cultural and language activities both locally and internationally, so this camp will help in providing an experience of Indonesian and Japanese culture and specialised language tasks. (This is not however a compulsory camp.)

Both groups will get the opportunity to participate in various activities including immersion in language, a full day of language practice with teaching staff, a cooking class at Sticky Rice Cooking School, preparing a cultural meal for the group cooking with ingredients from their region of choice as well as language specific language learning activities tailored especially for the upcoming Oral and Written exams.

The camp will be based at Woodhouse Activity Centre, and students will be using the bunk style dormitories. The cost for the camp per person will be approximately $300 depending on student numbers. This includes the use of the facilities within Woodhouse, accommodation, a session at Sticky Rice Cooking School, tube slides, language activies and all food and meals during the 2 days.

Please fill out the Google Form link below to register yourself by the end of week 4.
