Music Scholarships
Applications for 2025 entry are now open.
St John’s Grammar School offers Music Scholarships to students not currently attending the Secondary Campus (Years 7 – 12) who display excellence and/or outstanding potential in Music.
St John’s Grammar School has a highly successful music program, and students are consistently provided with large practical performance opportunities within the school, wider community and around Australia.
Students applying for a Music Scholarship should be able to demonstrate a sound technical ability in their chosen musical instrument/s or voice, and perform with musicality and interpretation.
A Music Scholarship recipient is expected to make a significant contribution to the musical life of St John’s Grammar School, and act as mentors and leaders to their peers in both the classroom and as part of Co-Curricular Ensembles.
A successful Music Scholarship student will be expected to:
- Undertake Music as a curriculum choice from Years 7-12
- Participate in at least two major ensembles, either instrumental or vocal
- Continue to take lessons with a private instrumental teacher. (These can be arranged through the School or organised privately.)
