Over the past year we have been looking at different options we can offer the students during play times. As mentioned in the previous newsletter we are in the process of developing our play spaces to enhance opportunities to play and for students to interact. Giving like minded students the opportunity to mix with each other and share interests is a great way to develop friendships and learn off others and we are exploring ways we can support this.

Through our Learning Teams program we asked the Year 4 students about what activities they would like to take part in during recess and lunch. They came up with a list of over 30 activities they would like to participate in. This list was then given to our Year 6 cohort and they were given the opportunity to vote on which of these activities they would like to lead. The activities ranged from dance, to sports and art clinics through to digital technology activities. The Year 6 students have now nominated which of these activities they would like to lead. The first 3 activities that will be run over the next 5 week will be Dancing Club, Drawing Club and a Sports Clinic. This is an excellent opportunity for the Year 6 students to lead and serve their school community and we look forward to sharing some photos and highlights from these activities in the next Newsletter.
