Dear Parents

Since the beginning of the Term 2, students in Reception to Year 6 have been learning about Indonesian music, and this will culminate in a special St John’s Grammar online performance by the Musica Viva group, ‘Makukuhan’, on Wednesday 17 June from 1.45-2.40pm. Students will be watching the concert from their classrooms via a zoom webinar, which you are also invited to attend. They will be able to ask questions of the performers via the chat function.

Since Indonesian is the Asian language we study at St John’s, the preparation for this concert has been a collaboration between the Music and Indonesian departments, providing a rich and engaging study of the traditional Balinese and Javanese style, instruments and movement.

Here is the link enabling you to attend:

Musica Viva is the wonderful organisation providing the concert, and they have managed to adapt their incursions to an online experience during these restricted times. The links below gives you more information about Musica Viva and how the program will work.
