A busy term for the P&F

Thank you to Year 3 and 4 Parent Reps and their team of volunteers who successfully manned the BBQ and food stall for the Junior School Athletics Day in the Belair National Park last Thursday. From all accounts it was a busy day, and particular thanks go to Kellie Desteno and Emma Donahey who were the driving force, coordinating food and volunteers in the background. It is really great to see so many different people getting involved and lending a hand – hopefully you enjoyed the day, and perhaps got to know some new people along the way. I also hope you will be happy to lend a hand again next time!!!

Thanks also to Pam Wallace and Amanda Jarvis, who organised the Kytons Easter fundraiser this year, and to Louise Stanton who pitched in at the last minute to help Pam organise the goodies and distribute them to families last Tuesday. I hope you enjoyed your Easter treats – my Lamingtons were delicious! This year we were lucky enough to raise $395.20.

We are still finalising plans for the Mums’ Night in May – fingers crossed details will be locked in by the end of this week, so keep an eye out for an invitation before the end of Term 1.

We have one more BBQ to go before the end of this term, and that is the JP Fun Day next Friday. I will be emailing JP Parent Reps to coordinate their volunteers, and P&F will be ordering food. Hopefully this glorious weather holds out for the day! Week 1, Term 2 is Cross Country, and we will allocate Year 6 parents to staff the BBQ on that day, then Week 2 is the District SAPSASA Cross country in the National Park that St John’s Grammar hosts for our region. This is a great fundraiser for us, supplying food and drinks for the few hundred competitors, teachers and parents from the district that come along, but it is a lot of work so if you are possibly available on Friday 11 May to lend a hand, we would greatly appreciate it! We also put a call out again to bakers to donate goodies to sell, so please watch out for the reminder as it is early in Term 2.

And finally, the Secondhand Uniform Shop is open for the final time this Term on Saturday 7 April, 9.30 – 11.30am. Feel free to come along and pick up a bargain! You might want to start trying on last year’s winter uniforms and check how much your children have grown over the summer…! If you want to sell items on commission, details are on the website and we can collect them from either of the Reception areas at each Campus.
