Almost there!!!

This term appears to be flying past in a blur of activity… it seems every second week is a sporting carnival (or another BBQ to organise!).

Our first Junior School BBQ was held at the Swimming Carnival on Friday, and thanks to the very organised Year 5 Parent Rep team of Lena Clark and Lisa Barnett, it went swimmingly!  Emma Donahey is doing a great job behind the scenes on the food ordering, and has a team of helpers collecting various for the day – thanks to all who helped!  Year 3 and 4 Reps are already making plans for the Athletics Day BBQ on March 29 – we will be looking for volunteers to help cook and serve food at the Carnival, as well as people to bring baked goodies for us to sell to hungry competitors and spectators on the day, so please help if you are able.

We are planning our Mothers’ Day Stall at the Junior School on Thursday 10 May (avoiding Friday 11 May as the Year 3s go on camp, and there is also SAPSASA cross country) to give your children an opportunity to buy something special for their mum before the Sunday.  Posters will be distributed, and while it is of course not compulsory, if you would like to send your child along with a couple of dollars that would be great!  Melissa Squire has taken on the role of organising it this year, and she will need a couple of helpers on the day so if you are free that morning, please get in touch.

Plans are well under way for Mums’ night, which we are planning to put back into May this year to allow space for the Ball in October. We are still finalising the details, but as soon as it is locked in we will let you know!

It is Le Tour de Soar this Sunday morning, to raise funds for the Pedal Prix team to purchase a new vehicle.  Parents and Friends are supporting the Pedal Prix committee with manning the BBQ and will be supplying bacon and egg rolls for the competitors, but there will be plenty for supporters and cheer squads to purchase as well.  A Coffee Van will be on hand to aid in the morning recovery session after the riders return.  Come along for breakfast and support the fabulous Pedal Prix team!
