New initiatives for the ELC and Junior School

2018 is proving to be another exciting year in the Junior School and there are a number of initiatives that will engage students and provide unique learning opportunities for students from the ELC right through to Year 6.

ELC specialist programs

This year, the specialists programs will extend into the Early Learning Centre. We are very fortunate to have dedicated and passionate specialist teachers and now children from the 4 Year old program right through to Year 6 will benefit from their expertise.

Relationships with Belair National Park

The Junior School already utilises the Belair National Park regularly and this year we are looking to strengthen our relationship with the park to create some trademark experiences in the park for each year level and make St John’s Grammar a centre for excellence in environmental science.

Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics

Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics will again be a forefront of our plans this year. We will again hold a STEM day and offer Tournament of Minds, da Vinci Decathlon and STEM club. We will also engage a range of experts in the field of Science and Technology to support our programs. Mr Shaw will be driving a robotics program in the Junior School that I am sure our children will love and gain a lot from. He will also be continuing Code Club.
