The Student Citizenship Award was presented to Stuart Henshall in Senior School Assembly yesterday by the Order of Australia Association. Amongst its objectives are;
- to foster love of and pride in Australian Citizenship, and
- to promote good citizenship, by example, by encouragement and by awards to individuals and other groups to alleviate poverty, promote harmony, or otherwise benefit communities in Australia
It is these objectives that are identified in the Student Citizenship Awards. The Award is not a category of the Order of Australia, but an award offered annually by the Order of Australia Association, South Australia Branch to all Year 11 and 12 students across our State.
Glenys Jones, Life Member of the Order of Australia Association presented a Student Citizenship Award to Stuart Henshall. In School, local and State leadership, team and mentoring roles Stuart collaborates with peers and diverse adults in School and regional indigenous communities to build supportive structures, maximise learning outcomes, enhance reconciliation and improve wellbeing for diverse youth and communities. He models positive local, regional and global citizenship.
Congratulations to Stuart Henshall – you are a true inspiration to your fellow students at St John’s Grammar School, your family and your community.
