Cancer Council Relay for Life

In Term 4, the focus of our Rite Journey program is on What is my purpose? and What do I have to give? We are excited to announce our inaugural involvement in the very special community event, Relay for Life, a fun and moving overnight experience that raises vital funds for Cancer Council’s research, prevention and support services.

Relay for Life is a chance for communities to recognise and celebrate those who have overcome cancer or are undergoing treatment, as well as the people who care for them. It also provides an opportunity to celebrate the memory of loved ones lost to cancer.

The Rite Journey students and their family members have formed Team St John’s and will participate in this event, and most importantly, raise much needed funds for cancer research and resources for cancer patients. The Relay for Life event will be held in Belair National Park on Saturday 4 November, from 2pm and will finish on Sunday 5 November, at 9am.

Leading up to the event, we will host guest speakers, dress in a ‘splash of yellow’, and provide a car washing service, to help fundraise for the Cancer Council. Look out for more details in our daily notices or at assemblies. During the event, there is activities and entertainment so we would like invite the entire St John’s community (ELC – 12)  to pop down and visit us during the Relay. It will be held near Karka Pavillion.
