I can’t believe how quickly this term is flying past! More school holidays just around the corner, and then we are into the last term of the year!
The P&F had an early start last Wednesday morning, cooking a bacon and egg breakfast celebrating Dads at the Junior School for Chaplain Paula’s, ‘Bless the Blokes’ morning. Although the weather was not too friendly, the warmth of the thanks we received for our efforts more than made up for the chill! It is lovely to be involved in events that bring our community together on many levels, even if they do require some faith and persistence at times!
We also held our annual Father’s Day stall on the Friday 1 September, so hopefully all our Dads loved their gift on the Sunday morning. It is very special to see our younger students carefully choosing a present for their Dad – one delightful young lass was disappointed that the item she wanted had sold out, but when she looked at other options, she was thrilled to find a special pen and paper because ‘my Dad is at work all the time, so is always writing’! Happy Father’s Day to you all!
We also have our Mum’s night coming up. We are doing ‘Gin in the Spring’ upstairs at the Stirling Hotel on Friday 20 October at 7pm. Cost is $35 per ticket, and includes a Gin (or bubbles) on arrival, canapes and a guest speaker to talk about Gin for those that are interested. Please get on board and register ASAP, because we need to confirm catering by Tuesday 3 October, which is in the holidays. We are also considering organising a bus for those that don’t want to drive up the hill – it will go to and from Belair. Please register your interest here, so we can get things organised if there is enough interest!
