As a part of the Year 10 Explore and Soar Week, a vibrant group of Arts students chose to participate in the Creative Arts Cultural Tour of Sydney. The tour included workshops at the Australian Theatre for Young People, the Brett Whiteley Studio and NIDA (National Institute of Dramatic Arts), a tour of the Opera House, a visit to the Art Gallery of NSW (& Archibald Prize), a seafood lunch cruise around the Harbour, a climb to top of a Sydney bridge pylon, a lunchtime concert at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, a tour of Opera Australia (set making, costumes & props) and a wonderful live performance of My Fair Lady at the iconic Capital Theatre.
Staying in the heart of the Rocks, we found Sydney a fantastic city to visit and our students responded appropriately with much engagement, responsible behaviour and an appreciation for this opportunity. A big thank you to Sarah Cropley (our tour manager) and Dawn Clarke, Kate Wright and Charlie Thompson for their support and enthusiastic attendance.
