Parents and Friends held our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Tuesday 22 August, and we are very pleased to welcome two new faces to our committee. Lauren Robbins, who is currently a Parent Representative in the ELC, has joined us and it is lovely to have some fresh ideas around the table, as well as strengthening our involvement with the Junior School. We are also fortunate to welcome back Suzanne Mitchell, who has been a previous member and secretary of P&F, and has returned for another term. Chris Cuthill has decided it is time to move on to other challenges, but she couldn’t bring herself to leave just yet so will stay until the end of the year.
Our Mothers and Daughters Makeup Look ‘n Learn session was on Friday night, and we had a lovely enthusiastic group of ladies (both young and not-so-young!) keen to improve their knowledge and skills in the art of Makeup application. Huge thanks to Melissa Squires, parent in the Junior School and professional hair and makeup artist, who did a wonderful presentation full of helpful tips and suggestions. Thanks also to Just Bliss chocolates for their donation of tasty chocolates to top off the evening, and to all those that helped put it together. A very sophisticated affair!
We are once again holding a Fathers Day Stall at the Junior School this Friday 1 September, to give the younger kids an opportunity to shop for their Dad. Catalogues are out, and items range from $1 to $10 in price, so if your child would like to buy something for their dad please send them along on Friday with a little bit of cash!
And finally, we are starting to promote our Mums Night, which is ‘Gin in the Spring’ upstairs on The Deck at the Stirling Hotel at 7.00pm on Friday 20 October. This is Week 1 in Term 4. Cost will be $35 per head, and includes cocktail food and a drink on arrival. We are also organising a guest speaker to chat about Gin, and all the latest developments in this space, and there will be Gin tastings available for those that are interested.
