Some fantastic P&F events coming up soon!

Phew! We have come to the end of the P&F barbecue season, with a very successful District SAPSASA Cross Country day on Friday 19 May. We were very lucky with the weather, being a little damp to begin but otherwise cool and fine, and with the big happy crowds of hungry kids and adults who came to purchase our food and drinks. Huge thanks especially to Emma Donaghey, who took on the huge task of the organisation and food ordering for all our barbecues this year and Juliana Button who also put in lots of effort with coordinating each one. Also, to all who pitched in to help with the many jobs including collecting and delivering supplies, serving, cooking and generally giving up your time to share the load. These events, aside from being lots of fun and important for our kids and our community, are great fundraisers for the P&F and I am looking forward to being able to tell you how much we raised when we have finished crunching the numbers…

Chris Cuthill organised another successful Mother’s Day Stall at the Junior School last Friday week, and I hope all you deserving mums enjoyed your gifts. It is lovely to see the kids coming to choose a present, and the thought and effort they put into making their selection – they obviously care a great deal about their Mum! It is probably a good time to mention that Chris has decided to pass the baton to the next parent to organise the Mother’s and Father’s Day Stalls, with her daughter in her final year at the Junior School, so if you are interested in taking on this role please let me know. It is not too taxing and Chris would be happy to train you up with Father’s Day in September – it would be a shame not to offer this service to kids next year!

We have two more community events that we are in the process of organising, and will give more details when they come to hand…

  1. Mothers and Daughters ‘look and learn’ make-up evening – this will likely be in August, and is a great opportunity for our young (and not-so-young!) ladies to learn how to apply make-up from a professional.  Watch this space for dates…
  2. Mums Night – ‘Gin in the Spring’. Put Friday 20 October (Week 1 of Term 4) in your diaries for an evening out with the girls at the Stirling Hotel. The venue is superb – I will let you know when we are a bit more organised with details.

I hope you and your family are happy and healthy, and settled into the Winter term.  Remember our Secondhand Uniform shop is open this Saturday 27 May 27, from 9.30 – 11.30am at the Junior School campus – information is on the website, or you can email us here.
