I don’t know about you, but these fortnightly newsletters seem to come around very quickly – surely two weeks haven’t passed since I last wrote to you??!
Dads’ night was last Friday – and from all accounts it was a great success. There were nearly 100 Dads and male staff members gathered at the ELC for some ‘beer and cheer’, and I gather there was plenty of both of these things! Thanks to the organising group of Frank Ali, Richard Anderson, Neil McNish and Wayne Dixon, and their other supporters, for making it happen and rallying the crowds – hopefully all those who attended had a great night.
Friday was also the Swimming Carnival for the Junior School, and it was fantastic to see so many kids in the pool trying hard, being cheered on by the crowd. Nothing like an enclosed swimming centre to enhance the noise! The P&F provided the BBQ, and this one was very ably staffed by year 6 parent volunteers, so thank you all for the help.
We do it all again at the Athletics Carnival on Friday 31 March, and this time we are asking the Year 3 and 4 parents to lend a hand. We are communicating with the Parent Representatives for these classes, and they will be calling for volunteers soon so watch this space. We are also calling for bakers to help with goodies on the day, and have organised a Coffee van to provide us all with tasty beverages – most important to fuel our cheerers appropriately! Kirsty Curnow has engineered a roster for the year of baking, and we are asking for baked goods from 2N and 6G for Athletics day (pretty please!). This is instead of cupcake day for these classes, so don’t worry you won’t be asked twice! But of course, if anyone else would like to contribute feel free…!
In case you missed the email, the Kytons Easter orders have kicked off for another year. More information coming soon about the Mothers Day stall, Cross Country BBQ and Mums night, all of which are bubbling along in the background… watch this space!
