A: A bike shop
owner who uses a lot maths and group of students who understand a lot more
about bikes!
Last Monday morning
seventeen Year 7s and their maths teacher went to the new MegaBike store in
Blackwood and meet with owner Claude Alton. For the next hour the students
heard all about how different gears help cyclists, why everyone’s bike has
forks at an angle of 73° and what to do to set up your bike speedometer.
To help celebrate
National Literacy and Numeracy Week you can see student presentations that have
resulted from this excursion in the Blackwood MegaBike store, Main Road
Blackwood (next to the Post Office) from 1 – 6 September.
