Deb Woodard-Knight

Head of Mathematics and SACE coordinator

Deb Woodard-Knight is our much loved Head of Mathematics and SACE coordinator. She is a talented teacher, passionate about the subject but even more-so about the kids she teaches. Deb's lessons are lively with a high bar set on expectations and student achievement no matter the level.

Deb has every right to brag about the school's record at the Year 12 level. So many indicators show that the school gets it just about ‘spot on' when it comes to Mathematics education. High percentages of our graduates go into Engineering and Maths degrees each year, retention rates for students studying Maths at the senior level top 80%, one year we provided 10% of all Merit award winners across the State for Maths Studies and Specialist! Deb regularly presents at conferences, and is a member of various SACE subject panels and curriculum advisory groups in the area of Mathematics.

Deb is a dynamic character, with a wicked sense of humour. She is a dedicated fitness fanatic when her body allows it. A regular to the gym, Deb also boasts a decorated career in hockey having represented the State and Australia as a determined defender. She has shared that expertise in coaching a successful school team.

Deb is married to David who is an Engineer and a keen cyclist. Her son Patrick is following family tradition mathematically as well as being rated as a skilled hockey player. The family love to travel...and ski... with Canada being a favourite destination. They relish living in the Hills in an environmentally friendly and sustainable house with kookaburras, koalas and the occassional pesky possum as visitors. Similarly, the community love Woody being part of our school. Her vast contributions over a number of years have helped shape and build the school to what it is today.
