We are planning to introduce an on-line Parent/Teacher interview booking system for the Secondary Campus interviews scheduled for May 1 and 3. If this initiative is successful we will introduce it to the Junior School as well if it is viewed as helpful.
This initiative has arisen from parents expressing that it is often very difficult for them to book interviews because their children do not pass on the forms quickly enough or sometimes not at all. Our plan is to include the on-line booking instructions in the envelopes with school reports and that booking will be open as soon as reports have been sent. Our hope is that this will make it easier for parents.
Please treat this first attempt as a trial. We will be keen to hear if the experience was simple and made things easier for you or not. Your suggestions for refining the process will be most welcome.
We are considering introducing a Facebook page to also assist with communication. I am aware that numbers of parents have found the Facebook site set up by one of our parents to be really useful and perhaps it may be an advantage for us to run an interactive site like this.
To help us build our knowledge in this area, Cathy McMahon and I will attend a Social Media Masterclass to look at how it could be used to enhance communication within our community. I will keep you informed about our progress and will be keen to receive your comments.
