Student Welfare
St John’s Grammar School aims to be a safe, caring, supportive, tolerant, confident and connected learning community. Student welfare is not just something timetabled or marginalised into periphery programs. Rather welfare is obvious in every arena of school life at all times. The highest quality of care of students and the development of those critical life skills is at the forefront of what we do at this School.
St John’s Grammar holds the fundamental belief that student welfare and success at school go hand in hand. It is vital that students learn about the notion of success and how they can best achieve it. Therefore while the School works hard to provide excellent student care, there is equal importance given to the development of those critical ingredients in the way students approach their schooling; confidence, organisation, persistence, resilience and cooperation.
Students of St John’s Grammar are known for their compassion and tolerance towards others. The School has developed a Bullying & Harassment Policy, which is clearly understood by all students.
A Behaviour Management Policy also gives students guidelines on appropriate behaviour, and the consequences of inappropriate behaviour.
