About our Middle School

The St John's Grammar Middle School maintains the high level of individual attention for students for which the School is renowned. Teaching staff actively track the development of every child, tailoring their schooling where possible to help them reach their full potential.

Supportive student - teacher relationships are fostered to help students through adolescence and their rapid academic, social, physical, emotional and spiritual development. Within the safe but challenging environment of our School, students are able to learn about judgement, reasoning, risk taking and independent enquiry.

Our Middle School students have access to all the facilities of the Secondary Campus, enjoying modern science laboratories, computer rooms, art, drama and music rooms. Information technology is an integral and essential component of many subjects.

In the Middle School the student experiences a precious and exciting time of rapid physical, social and intellectual growth in the transition from childhood to young adulthood.

This can be a challenging time in which family and social relationships develop on a new footing, and the realities of the outside world impinge increasingly on students. It is a time when relationships with peers are very important and, with guidance, students develop social skills which form the basis for the many friendships and collaborations they will make as adults.

Our Middle School offers a stimulating learning community where students and teachers continually strive to increase their knowledge and apply it to relevant and meaningful situations. Our aim is to meet the needs of each individual student so that they can develop their gifts and talents and achieve to their potential.
